IGP innaugurates 169 SIS to fight crime

Inspector General of Police (IGP), Olukayode Egbitokun,  Monday inaugurated 169 Special Intervention squart (SIS) to be managed in a critical situation in order to safeguard the Nigeria nation.

He stated this Monday  at the graduation ceremony of 169 Special Intervention Squart (SIS) in Ende Hill Nasarawa state.

The IGP  stated that the special intervention squared will be deployed to deal with any existential  problem after which the command of such jurisdiction will take charge of the situation.

He said the training was in collaboration with the United State of America (USA).

“The Special Intervention Squart is our strategic response to this critical need. The famous objectives of the SIS is to bridge the existing gap within our operational frame work, while our traditional policy method have being effective. We must keep peace with ever changing nation.

“SIS signifies a significant advancement of operational strategy, drawing upon the best strategy around the globe,” he stated.

He said the SIS is not to be permanently deployed for any situation but rather to mitigate the risk and threat  in any part of the country and return to base.

Governor Abdullahi Sule appreciated the IGP for the initiative.

He said: “Let me start by appreciating Mr. President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his believe in Nigeria and continue support to the Nigerian police and indeed all the security agencies that today we witnessing what we are witnessing.

“I thanked God today, police is taking training more seriously because that exactly is the way to go,”  Sule said.
