The deputy governor of Osun state, Prince Kola Adewusi on Wednesday appealed for calm in the lingering dispute between Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders in Ife East local government in the Osun East senatorial zone.

Prince Adewusi gave the appeal in a statement made available to journalists by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Goke Awoyemi, on the purported vote of no confidence on him, and a member of the party’s Board of Trustees, Prof Wale Oladipo.

The deputy governor pointed out that parties in the lingering crisis should “exercise restraint and allow the top leadership of PDP to facilitate a swift and amicable resolution.

“The Office of the Deputy Governor of Osun state, His Excellency Prince Kolawole Adewusi, has been alerted by recent media reports regarding a dispute among political stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Ife East local government among political stakeholders in the Osun East senatorial zone”, he said.

Prince Adewusi added, “We wish to inform the public that while internal disagreements are embedded in general party politicking as a natural aspect of political dynamics, they must never be allowed to distract us from our core mission of serving the people of Osun state”.

“We, therefore, appeal to all parties to exercise restraint and allow the top leadership of our great party to facilitate a swift and amicable resolution”.

He stressed, “This is a time for cohesion, not division. It is, therefore, critical that we remain unified and focused on supporting the outstanding work of our visionary leader, His Excellency Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke”.

“The singular goal before us as party stakeholders is to secure yet another resounding victory in 2026, and our collective efforts should be directed toward this objective”.

He then urged the media and the public to view this matter in its proper context as a routine internal issue that will be resolved within our political family.
