If I emerge candidate, Edo guber election will be walk over for APC – Airhiavbere 

A governorship aspirant in Edo, Gen. Charles Airhiavbere (rtd) has said the September 2024 election would be a win-win situation for the All Progressives Congress (APC) if the party fields him as its candidate.

He said, “The APC will win with the right candidate, and I have the reach and qualifications to win the elections.”

Airhiavbere, who is the immediate past Executive Director Finance and Administration of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), stated this during the flag-off of his campaign at the state party secretariat in Benin City.

The aspirant used the occasion which was attended by all the State Working Committee of the party to unveil his manifesto for Edo state. They include: Peace, infra-structural development and economic prosperity.

He stated that his campaign for the ticket of the party revolves around  three foundational pillars and interconnected elements essential for crafting a better society for all.

Airhiavbere also reflected on his political history and said: “I supported the present governor’s election in 2016, and in 2020, I was part of the seven aspirants who agreed to the consensus that produced Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu. 

“It is my turn to try. And I have asked them to let me be the meat that sets the trap that catches the antelope.”
