Fati Abubakar, popularly known as Fati Shu’uma or Fati Sai-na-auri-Zango, is not only beautiful and lovely but also stubborn, controversial and arrogant. Most of Kannywood directors and producers prefer to give her roles of arrogance and uncompromising character and other related roles. She spoke to ALIYU ASKIRA in Kaduna.
Fati, seeing you personally you look friendly and cool, Where are you from?
Well, I am from Bauchi State, but born and brought up in Kaduna. I did my primary and secondary schools in Kaduna state, I am 21 years old and that is me for you.
How did you join Kannywood?
Well, I have already explained this in an interview I had with Film Magazine, the most important thing now is I am in Kannywood and a fast rising star. My first film is Sai Na Auri Adam Zango, and I also featured in several high budget films like Shuuma, Al’ajabi, Uwar Mugu, Ta’addanci, Rumaisa and host of others, if the price is right I can play role for you, even the wayward roles I play in films depend on the price, the higher the price the more arrogant and wayward I can be.
In fact Aisha Aliyu Tsamiya and I are now the toast of Kannywood, and we are both young, pretty and on top of our games in Kannywood. In Kannywood I admire Adam A. Zango a lot and Aisha Aliyu is my role model.
People say you are arrogant and wayward in real life, what is your take on that?
How? It is the role I play in films, that has nothing to do with my real life, but I am pretty, why should I be cheap? Kannywood has changed me, I hardly go out now without wearing hijab, because of my popular face.
What is your take on the so-called sex for role saga?
Pay me and I will play any role for you. The money you are paying me does not include sex, and if I am to be engaged in sex scandal it will not be with a Director or Producer, but with a first class actor, that I will not regret if I zip down.
What is your ultimate desire in life?
Well I am getting married very soon, like I used to tell people, but if you insist to know the date I will tell you that there is no definite date, I am only trying to ward off the pressure of those who may disturb me about marriage so you can read across the line.
On a serious note, marrying General Buhari is one of my greatest ambitions. I know that his wife Aisha is very pretty and he is 72 years old, I will be prepared to marry him. You are close to him as I was told, please tell the world I want him to marry me, he is deeply popular, religious, tall, handsome and of strong character.
Apart from that, what other qualities do you need in a man?
He should be tall, because I am of average height, hairy I mean (saje), black and strong because I want to enjoy my life to the fullest. But quote me anywhere, if I love you and discovered you are HIV positive, since there is modern drugs, I will marry you except if it is Ebola, (laughter).
Let me tell you, I don’t want to marry a young bachelor, I prefer a married man who will take care of me based on his experience, and not a young guy who will marry me after sometimes will start womanizing outside.
