Spanish club Cadiz have attributed the eye-catching form of their goalkeeper to the superlative displays of Stanley Nwabali at the recent AFCON.
Cadiz goalkeeper Jeremías Ledesma had an impressive outing in a Matchday 28 La Liga clash against Atletico Madrid, keeping Álvaro Morata, Antoine Griezzman and the likes in check as the relegation-threatened side got a shock win over the Madrid-based side.
Cadiz had previously lost and drawn all their games,without winning any, before Ledesma stood up to the challenge making four jaw-dropping saves.
The club said his performance was caused by the heroics of Super Eagles goalkeeper at the 33rd African Cup of Nations, Stanley Bobo Nwabali.
In a post on their X official handle, Cadiz said: “He (Ledesma) learned from Nwabali in his beast mode at the AFCON”.
