Heartland sink Kwara in Ilorin

Mohammed Mohammed scored on his return to Ilorin as Heartland FC came from behind to outclass newly promoted Kwara United 3-1 at the Ilorin Township Stadium.
There was a big relief from the Harmony Warriors’ fans as Ahmed Jimoh opened the scoring with a strike from a spilled save by David Obiazo.
But Kwara United’s lead was short-lived as Mohammed levelled up for the Naze Millionaires.

Mohammed was then substituted some minutes after, with Jimoh Oni replacing him and making an instant mark.
Super-sub Oni scored Heartland’s second and Bright Ejike struck his third league goal of the season to put his team in command.
While Heartland were unable to add to their goal tally in the second half  – it was a performance that fully justified why many expect Erasmus Onuh’s men to be Nigeria Professional Football League contenders at the business end of the season.
With John Ibeh adding creativity to the midfield, it helped make Heartland a more potent side.
For Kwara United, it was their first defeat of the season, a result that might not go down well with their faithfuls – and thereby put pressure on the Tunde Abdulrahman led technical crew.

Heartland zoomed to the summit of the ladder with 9 points from 3 games – and a game in hand against Kano Pillars, while Kwara United have 5 points from 4 games.
