Gunmen have reportedly attacked and killed the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Speaker, Edo state House of Assembly.
The SSA, Mr Samson Omoarebokhae, was said to be on his way from Ozalla in Owan West local government area of the state on August 31, 2024, when the hoodlums struck.
The special adviser to the Speaker on Media, Mrs. Ivy Adodo Ebojele, who disclosed the news of the tragic incident in a statement on Monday, described the deceased as one of the trusted aides to the speaker.
Ebojele added, “On getting the news, the Speaker, Blessing Agbebaku immediately dispatched a delegation on a condolence visit to the family of the slained SSA.
“The Chief of Staff to the Speaker, Hon. Odion Iruobe, who led the speaker’s delegation, described Omoarebokhae as a great loss to the assembly and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).”
While commiserating with the family of the slain aide, the statement noted that the speaker would do everything within his powers to ensure the killers are arrested and made to face the wrath of the law.
