Group tasks student unions, others to form Coalition to re-brand Nigeria

New Nigeria Youth Progressive Alliance, (NNYPA), a non-governmental organisation (NGO) has called for coalition of all youth organisations, student unions and others to bury their differences and form a strong formidable force that will surmount the challenges of rebranding Nigeria.
It’s Acting President, Emma Bricks Oko, told newsmen yesterday in Abuja that though they are not advocating for an all youth government but we certainly disagree that the status quo be maintained.
According to him, the old political actors must leave the centre stage and play advisory role when the need arises, adding that they are mindful that the journey would be rough and bristly but they are determined to succeed.
He said a plain level ground must be given to all Nigerians both young and old the opportunity to display their potentials without any hindrances.
“Our targets in the forthcoming general elections is thus ,to ensure the youth are elected to occupy 50% of local government wards and councils, State assemblies ,State governors and 70% of Senate and Federal house of Assembly ,” he said.
He called on elderly politicians to honourably step aside and support their children or will face a disgraceful defeat in the 2019 elections and beyond.
“This is a clarion call to all members of the press who are largely youth to come all out and support this laudable journey to liberate Nigeria and Nigerians from the overdue political leadership slavery,” he said.
