Ground breaking of 4th Mainland Bridge holds in April 2024 – Sanwo-Olu

Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has disclosed that the ground breaking ceremony for the much-awaited 4th Mainland Bridge will hold by end of the first quarter of 2024.

The governor said this while reeling out different developmental projects that will be commissioned in 2024 during a town hall meeting with the people Lagos West held in Ikeja on Thursday.

The occasion was the first town hall meeting organised by Governor Sanwo-Olu since his inauguration for the second term meant to get feedback from citizens on the THEMES PLUS agenda.

Governor Sanwo-Olu noted that his  administration was committed to ensuring a greater Lagos as it hopes to unveil different developmental projects that would make life easier for Lagosians.

Among the projects which the governor listed include the Redline rail project  slated for commissioning in February by  President Bola Tinubu, the groundbreaking for  the much awaited 4th Mainland Bridge slated for March 2024 and others.

Sanwo-Olu said his government had been able to improve on the state’s transportation master plan to address traffic gridlocks, build smart infrastructure,  embark on health reforms, enhance education, poverty alleviation programmes among others.

The Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi, who spoke on behalf of other traditional rulers present at the event, asked Governor Sanwo-Olu for measures the state government is putting in place  to curb insecurity.

He also demanded to know why the federal government refused to recognise the 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDA), despite the ruling party being at the centre.
