Residents of Sabon Garin Bogo community in Akko local government area of Gombe state have commended Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje for influencing a gully erosion control project under the Federal Ministry of Environment through the department of erosion, flood and coastal zone management.

The village head of the community, Suleiman Adamu Waziri, gave the commendation in an interview with newsmen in Gombe.

He said the senator’s intervention on the erosion control is timely and pointed out that the gully was a threat to the existence of the community.

“I want to sincerely appreciate the effort of Senator Danjuma Goje for coming to our aid to execute this gully erosion control project. Before now, this area used to be a death trap especially during raining season. It was so deep and threatening such that many of the residents relocated from the area when the state of the gully became worse. But the committed effort of the senator towards executing the project had helped in addressing the problem.

“Goje promised to do something on the gully when he was campaigning. Thank God now he has delivered what he promised. Work is now ongoing successfully at the site. We appreciate him and pray that God will help him too.”

He further called on Senator Goje to withdraw his decision on not to contest election again, saying that his people still need his service.

“I am calling on him to please withdraw his earlier decision that he wouldn’t contest election again. It’s still not time for him to quit because people need his service and the upcoming generation of politicians has a lot to learn from his political school of thought.” He added

The village head also commended the effort of the state governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, for executing various developmental projects across the state, calling on the people of the state to give him maximum support and cooperation to the government, to enable them delivery on their campaign promises.
