Zaria
A former Chief Librarian with the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Malam Inuwa Dikko, has died at a private hospital in Sabon Gari local government area of Kaduna state after a brief illness.
The 73-year-old Dikko, who passed on yesterday, was survived by a wife, four daughters and many grandchildren.
Our correspondent reports that until his death, he was at one time the Chief Librarian of the famous Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and programme director, Hausa Radio, in the then Radio Television (RTK), Kaduna, in 1970s.
Late Dikko was buried in Zaria yesterday in accordance with Islamic injunctions
Speaking with Blueprint shortly after he was committed to Mother earth, a neighbour, Malam Abdulaziz Suleiman, said his death was a loss to the General Hausa-speaking citizens in particular and the nation in general.
