Evacuation: Another batch of Nigerians arrive Abuja from Sudan [PICTURES]

Another batch of Nigerians evacuated from on-going armed conflict in Sudan have arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Thursday May 11, 2023.

According to officials, another batch was being expected later same day.

Nigeria in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) spokesperson, Abdulrahman Balogun, made this known in an online post.

The information on NIDCOM official Twitter handle read, “Another batch of Nigerians evcauted from Port Sudan have arrived this morning at 5:11am. Reception on-going.”

Balogun had earlier posted, “Good morning all. Please kindly find the following updates: Two flights are being expected today.

“Aircraft :B737-800,Company: Tarco Airline. Left Port Sudan International Airport today, May 11. 2023 at 12am local time, with 135  Nigerian nationals (evacuees).

“Estimated time of arrival Port Sudan (PZU) to Juba (JUB) 2 hours 50 minutes. Stop over 1 hour in Juba. JUB to ABV = 03 hours 30 minutes. Total = 7 hours 30 minutes. The flight is expected to arrive  Abuja around 6:am  Nigerian time. Status: arrived safely.”

He further stated: “Please kindly find the following updates on the second flight expected this morning. Aircraft :B737-400. Company: Tarco Airline left Port Sudan International Airport today, May 11, 2023, at 5am. local time, with 123 Nigerian nationals (evacuees)  

“Estimated time of arrival Port Sudan (PZU) to Juba (JUB) 2 hours 50 minutes. Stop over 1 hour in Juba. JUB to ABV = 03:30 minutes. Total = 7 hours 30minutes. The flight is expected to arrive in Abuja around 11 am. Nigerian time.”
