Ebonyi tribunal: LG boss, stakeholders predict victory for Nwifuru

Chairman of Ohaukwu local government area, Hon. Ikechukwu Odon Saturday pledged support to the administration of Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi state.

Mr. Odono alongside stakeholders of the local government embarked in a solidarity match weekend to show their love and support for the governor.

Addressing journalists shortly after the exercise at the council headquarters, Mr. Odono, expressed gratitude to the governor for his policies that have benefited the people of the LGA and the state at large.

He said, “Today, the people of Ohaukwu local government area embarked on solidarity match in support of the government of Ebonyi state.

“We came out en mass and took off for the road work from Ezza Ngbo junction to 135 the headquarters of the local government. This solidarity match is also a victory walk for Governor Francis Nwifuru.

“Our governor has done well in the few months he is in office and we are supporting all his policies and programs. We are happy with his performance, and from what we are seeing, he will do very well in that position.

“We want to tell the governor that we are solidly behind him, we are happy with what he has done for our local government, and we are happy with the appointments he has made so far. We tagged this match solidarity/victory match because it is our earnest prayer and we know that he will emerge victoriously at the tribunal.

“His Excellency is going to be the governor of this state for eight years. He has started well and has kept to his promises.

“He promised to look into the plight of the civil servants and he has done so by implementing the N10,000 palliative in their salaries. He promised to build rural roads he has begun with the two-kilometer roads in the rural areas, employment of workers in the 13 general hospitals in the state, and more.”

Hon. Sunday Inyima, Commissioner for Capital City Development said, “This match is to show Nigerians that the Ebonyi people, especially the Ohaukwu local government are behind Governor Nwifuru. What we did today is like a two kilometers distance to support the governor’s policies and programs.”
