Ebonyi: New Police commissioner resumes duty

The new Police commissioner of Ebonyi state Command CP Anthonia Adaku-Uche Tuesday resumed duty.

CP Adaku-Uche was among the newly decorated police commissioners.

A statement by the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Joshua Ukandu, x-rayed the quality and experience CP Adaku-Uche in security.

The statement reads,”CP Anthonia Adaku Uche-Anya, fdc, is from Nwangele LGA of Imo state. She holds a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science, Bachelor of Law degree, Master of Law degree, and Master in Security and Strategic Studies.

“She joined the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) on 01/11/1991 and has served meritoriously in various roles across the country, including:
CSP ‘A’ Lagos State command,
Legal officer, Legal section FCID Abuja, DPO Lion building division Lagos State command, DPO Ikoyi division Lagos State command.

“After being promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police, she served as:Area Commander Umuahia, Abia State command, Coordinator CP Crack Squad, Abia State command,
Coordinator Special Operations Squad, Delta State command.
AC Special Enquiry Bureau FCID FHQ Abuja.

“In 2020, she was promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police and served as the DC welfare department of Finance and Administration FHQ Abuja, and subsequently as DC Administration Force Intelligence Department (FID) Abuja.

“Upon becoming a Commissioner of Police, she was deployed to Ebonyi State Police Command as the 27th Commissioner of Police. She has attended several courses, including: Tactical leadership command course,
Strategic leadership command course, Policy support and implementation course, Peace support operations course.Higher Defence and Strategic Studies course.

“CP Anthonia Adaku Uche-Anya, fdc is a fellow of the National Defence College and a member of several professional bodies and associations such as the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), the National Institute of Police Studies, the International Association of Women Police (IAWP), the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), and the Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM).

“The erudite and thorough-bred police officer is committed to upholding the rule of law and ensuring the police mandate of protecting lives and property in Ebonyi State. She also seeks the support of all relevant stakeholders in discharging her responsibilities”.
