The Lagos state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed over 2,250 officers and men to strategic locations across Lagos state and its environs to ensure security during the 2025 Easter celebrations.
The deployment follows the federal government’s declaration of Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025, as public holidays to mark Good Friday and Easter Monday festivities.
This was made public in a statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Corps (SC) Oluwaseun Abolurin.
Abolurin said the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the holiday declaration, prompting the Lagos NSCDC command to intensify security arrangements across the state.
The state commandant of the NSCDC in Lagos, Mr. Adedotun Keshinro, reaffirmed the corps’ unwavering commitment to safeguarding critical national assets and infrastructure spanning all sectors of the state’s economy.
“In response to the festive season, the Command has deployed 2,250 personnel to ensure adequate security coverage and the protection of key installations and facilities within Lagos State,” Keshinro said.
