Easter: Fun seekers throng recreation centres in Ibadan

The popular Agodi Gardens, Shoprite, Ringii, Paris Kitchen and other fun centers in Ibadan were beehive of activities Monday as fun seekers thronged the areas in celebration of Easter.

There were a large number of people at the entrance of the Agodi Gardens in spite of the N500 entrance fee.

At shoprite, many parents brought a good number of their children in spite of the N300, N500 paid by the children to access the playing ground.

A father, Mr Adetunji Ayanniyi, who brought four children, said he tried his best to ensure that children celebrated the Easter and had fun.

“The children asked for it and since the occasion is auspicious, we thought it wise to bring them. We appreciate the sacrifice Jesus made for us on the cross of Calvary and today, we celebrate the victory it has brought to us.

“We pray to be able to also make sacrifices for the well-being of others,’’ he said.

Ayanniyi urged the government to create a more conducive environment for the citizens by creating jobs, building roads, improving security and health sector.

Also, John Alao, who brought two children and his wife, expressed gratitude to God for granting him and his family the grace to witness another Easter.

“We have to celebrate, have fun because the season is too enormous to be hidden. We had to raise money to ensure that we bring our children here to make them happy.

“As they are here, they are happy and that’s our joy; just to make them have fun and celebrate with other kids,” he said.
