Director commends BSE for transparency, hard work



The Director/Principal of Federal Government Collage Kwali, Abuja, Hajiya Binta Abdulkadir, has commended Basis and Secondary Education (BSE) for its achievements, hard work and transparency of the education sector in Nigeria. 

She made the remark during the 35th anniversary speech and prize giving day ceremony and launching of the school magazine on Saturday in Kwali. 

She said despite the challenges faced, the process in the BSE was transparent and predictable. 

The principal who said was proud to be recognised as the 12th Principal of the college since its inception, promised to move the college forward.

She stated that since her redeployment to the college ranging from academics, disciplinary tone and infrastructure, the institution had witnessed tremendous  outlook.

She said the disciplinary tone of the college has been ameliorated to the nearest minimal with noticable few disciplinary cases surmountable under the school’s watch. 

She said the school urgently need teachers in the area of cultural and creativity arts, mathematics, laboratory equipment, books in the school library and furniture for the staff.

She said the college perimeter fence has not been fully erected and that has been a threat to the college community.

She also said the college has achieved 100% in many subjects in WASSCE and NECO SSCE. 

In her welcome address, the Director, Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Lami Amodu, represented by the Deputy Director, North Central Zone, Basic and Secondary Department, Federal Ministry of Education, Mr. Frank Otene Ada Omale, tasked the graduating students to see themselves as an ambassador of the noble college in the wider world.

On his part, the Chairman, Chief executive, FCT Area Council Service Commission, Mr. Isah Ramat Saidu, who was represented by the Executive Chairman, Kwali Area Council, Abuja-FCT, while launching the school’s magazine said, “we must be conscious of our sacred duty to facilitate the education of the Nigerian child.”

He called on all tiers of government to pool their resources and place basic education system on a sound pedestal.
