COVID-19: Cleric urges NCDC to set up test labs across Nigeria

The President Vision Africa International, Bishop Sunday Onuoha, has called on National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) to get rid of all bureaucratic bottle necks and set up testing centres in all parts of the country.

He stated this in a statement released in Umuahia, Abia state capital, and issued to newsmen while reacting to the NCDC’s release of molecular laboratory network that has flooded the social media space.

He said Coronavirus pandemic concerned all, and wondered why NCDC would deprive the South-east of a testing laboratory where suspected cases can be handled, describing it as unacceptable.

The Methodist Bishop who reminded the NCDC that all the zones were connected, said bureaucratic bottle necks should not pose challenge in setting up testing centres in all the states of the federation

He noted that the government has every resource at its disposal to set up testing laboratory in all the zones, stressing that the testing centres should be in all states of the federation while each state  should account for it.

Onuoha urged South-East states to take proactive measures by monitoring their borders against influx of people from other states.
