Court sentences 3 for various offences in Jigawa

The Magistrate’s Court sitting in Kazaure, the headquarters of Kazaure local government area of Jigawa state, has sentenced one Sani Wada to six months in prison with an option of N10,000.00 fine for stealing a motorcycle.

According to a press release issued yesterday in Dutse by the state commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Muhammed Gidado Fari, Wada will pay N90, 000 as compensation to the motorcycle owner or to go to jail for 12 months.

Similarly, he said the court with file no. (JG/CMC/KZR/22/014) has also sentenced Mohammed Umar and Sani Hassan of Karaftayi Village to three months in prison with an option of N6, 000 fine each for stealing a sheep.

The commandant advised youths in the state to always desist from committing criminal activities that could destroy their lives, and engage themselves in useful businesses that would promote and better their tomorrows.
