A wedding Fatiha at the residence of the former gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the 2014 primaries, Alhaji Ubale Hashim at Garungabas in Malam Madori local government area of Jigawa state, stirred reactions from political observers.
The occasion was almost thrown into another political rally when the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last 2015 governorship election, Alhaji Aminu Ibrahim Ringim, stormed the place with hundreds of his supporters singing ‘sai Lamido, sai Lamido’.
Speaking to reporters at the occasion, Ringim said of course he had to attend the wedding because Hashim “is his long time friend.
“Why people are shouting sai Lamido was not my making, but you know if you come with over one thousand supporters, you cannot control them and stop them saying what they want to say”.
Also the host, Alhaji Ubale Hashim, explained that the presence of the PDP candidate has nothing to do with politics but friendship. “I am in APC and a strong supporter of President Mohammadu Buhari”.
Adding that “President Buhari’s current budget will really transform the country. Nigerians will see changes soon despite the present dwindling oil prices, the President can develop the nation’s economy through the non oil sector as a good and experienced leader”.
He further commended the President on his war against the insurgents, corruption as well as diversification of the nation’s economy through agriculture and harnessing of solid mineral among others.
However, all efforts to speak to the state chairman of the APC, Alhaji Ado Sani Kiri failed, because he left the place in a rowdy manner accompanied by the national secretary of the APC, Alhaji Mai Mala Buni.
