Communities in Bauchi state have been enjoyed to always look after government property provided for them to uplift the living condition of its citizenry as government alone cannot ensure the safety of such items.
The Commissioner for Power and Energy, Barrister Yakubu Bello Kirfi, made the remark recently while speaking on the efforts of the Bauchi state government in trying to ensure adequate power supply in the state.
He reiterated the determination of the state government to ensure that each community in the state is giving prompt attention towards addressing its electricity problems, but called on such communities to support the state government in that direction especially in providing adequate security to protect installed electricity equipment.

Kirfi said the ministry had, within the last three months, successfully replaced transformers with new ones in different communities as part of deliberate efforts to improve power supply in the state.
He said the ministry had also assigned its engineers that inspected more communities in an attempt to provide new more transformers based on their request and subsequent approval by Governor Isa Yuguda.

The commissioner said in an effort by the Yuguda-led administration to provide independent power supply, samples of fuel oil had been taken from the three refineries, Kaduna, Owerri and Port-Harcourt to China for testing and laboratory analysis.
It would be recalled that the Bauchi state government in its effort to improve power supply in the state, especially amongst various communities, had ordered the supply of 80 transformers of various capacities worth over N260 million.
