The Chief Imam of Sultan Bello Mosque, Kaduna, Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Mahmud Gumi, has warned President Muhammadu Buhari to change his method of fighting corruption in the country, if it must succeed, noting that it is not easy to fight corruption successfully in a third world country like Nigeria.
The controversial cleric who took over the position of his late father Mahmud Abubakar Gumi as the spiritual leader of Izalah Sects in the north and head of the famous Sultan Bello Mosque Kaduna
also called on President Buhari to immediately release Colonel Sambo Dasuki, Sheikh Ibrahim Zak-Zakky, Nnamdi Kanu, and host of others detained by this government on charges of corruption, attempt to break away from Nigeria and Islamic fundamentalism.

Speaking yesterday, during his Ramadan tafsir in Kaduna, Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Gumi called on the President to also immediately open our boarders for people to bring in food stuffs like rice, maize, millet and the rest in commercial quantity because Nigerians are seriously suffering and cannot afford to buy basic necessities of life because of inflation, it was wrong for the president to close our boarder when Nigeria is only a consumer nation.

“I will continue to challenge the President and always tell him the truth that Nigerians are suffering, his policies are anti masses, if he wants to develop this country, he should dialogue with money bags, captains of industries, religious leaders so that they will easily bring out their resources to invest in our ailing industries for people to have Jobs and for money to circulate, the present policy of fighting the rich and mopping up all our resources and lodging it with CBN under the TSA policy will kill the economy and the government will fail at the end of the day. We therefore warn President Buhari to change his approach to governance and fighting corruption.”
