Super Eagles hopeful Chuba Akpom on Sunday registered his first Ligue 1 assist to help Lille secure a vital 2-0 away victory over Angers.
The 29-year-old forward, on loan from Ajax, who is currently struggling at the club played a decisive role as 10-man Lille climbed into the UEFA Champions League qualification position.
His contribution took his tally this season to two goals and one assist across 13 appearances.
The Nigerian striker exited the pitch after 72 minutes, with Lille comfortably ahead. With three games left, Lille’s top-four ambitions now look brighter, while Angers still flirts dangerously with relegation.
