A youth body in Benue state known as Benue Youth Initiative has faulted the state government for organising an ICT workshop for youth when the state has no functional website.
Addressing newsmen in Makurdi,  Aondoaver Baka, leader of the group, accused the state government of improper planning even as he noted that a professional training for ICT which usually takes not less than six weeks is being done in two days without enough computers for proper practical.

But the Adviser to Governor Samuel Ortom on Media and ICT, Mr. Tahav Agerzua, said the workshop, which commenced yesterday is jointly organised by the federal ministry of information and the Benue state government for degree and diploma graduates to enable them access jobs across the globe.
Baka had accused the government of unfair treatment, alleging that “the federal ministry of information wouldn’t have given just two days for a a sensitive training like ICT where people are expected to access important information relating to employment and other matters.

“I want to believe there is more than meets the eye. I dont see how people can acquire adequate information for just two days. I pray that monies voted for the programme are not diverted into private pockets as usual”.
However, Baka who described the programme as a misplaced priority said no ICT based organisation organised by law will admit of the so called trained persons as it “amounts to quackery and irresponsibility.
