Bago donates 10m to graduates of SEDI vocational training programme

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has demonstrated his commitment to youth empowerment in the state by donating N10 million to graduates of the Scientific Equipment Development Institute (SEDI) vocational training program. 

The Governor, Monday, in his speech emphasized the importance of skill acquisition, particularly among young people.

Governor Bago directed the inclusion of vocational training in schools under the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education. 

He also expressed gratitude to SEDI for their efforts in promoting local production and suggested organizing skill acquisition programs for the State Executive Council members to further strengthen the initiative.

Speaking earlier, the Managing Director of SEDI, Prof. Muhammad Ndaliman, highlighted the success of the vocational training program, which initially started with 65 trainees from Minna and its environs. 

These trainees, mostly youths, underwent training in various fields and were assessed through examinations, with outstanding performers receiving tools as rewards. 

Prof. Ndaliman also expressed plans to expand the program by sponsoring youth from all 25 Local Government Areas of the State, showcasing the program’s potential for widespread impact and youth empowerment. 

The Farmer Governor’s support towards the program’s success was acknowledged, with some of the trainees’ products presented to him as a testament to their achievements.
