Badaru establishes 7 science, technical schools in Jigawa

Determined to boost science and technical education, Jigawa governor, Alhaji Abubakar Badaru has established seven science and technical schools across the state.

 This was disclosed to our correspondent, Tuesday by the Executive Secretary Science and Technical Schools Board, Alhaji Ado Gwarata in an interview in his office.

He described the governor of the state, Badaru as a man with the heart for education and with listening ears.”

While urging parents and guardians in the state to send their wards into science schools in order to produce doctors, pharmacists, nurses and laboratory scientist, Ado Gwarata said education is one of the best legacies of the Abubakar Badaru administration.

 He said with the kind permission of the governor, the board has screened and employed science teachers, noting that, each year, the board spends  N20 million in the procurement of science equipment, and laboratory workshops,   saying through these efforts, the state has excelled in zonal and national science competitions.

The executive secretary lauded Governor Badaru for allowing them to recruit teachers, security and auxiliary staff  to man the science  and technical schools in the state.

 Ado  Gwarata  disclosed that, in 2016, the state got an increase of 50 percent  in WAEC while in NECO,  the state  scored 100 percent including credits in  English and Mathematics while in NABTIP,  the students scored 98,percent.
