Spanish giants Atletico Madrid have renewed their interest in signing Nigerian international Ademola Lookman as they prepare for life without forward Ángel Correa, who is set to join Mexican side Tigres.
Lookman, who currently plays for Atalanta in Italy’s Serie A, was also on Atletico’s radar last season as a potential replacement for Antoine Griezmann, who was at the time linked with a move to Major League Soccer (MLS).
With negotiations between Atletico Madrid and Atalanta expected to proceed smoothly—thanks to previous successful transfers involving players like Matteo Ruggeri and Juan Musso—the Spanish club are optimistic about securing the winger’s services.
However, the Rojiblancos face stiff competition for Lookman’s signature, with top European clubs such as Arsenal and Napoli also reportedly interested in the in-form forward.
