At last, NPFL 2023/2024 season gets kick-off date, organisers reveal prize money for winners

After suffering three postponement in the spate of few weeks the Nigeria Premier Football League 2023/24 season may finally gets underway this weekend Saturday September 30th across different venues in the country barring any last minutes change of plan by the league body.

The league was initially slated to kick off in late August but was shifted due to logistics reasons on three different occasions.

The league body in a memo sent to all the 20 NPFL clubs and sighted by Blueprint Sports indicated that the season will take off on September 30th and that each Club will get N10m take –off grant while the league winner will go home with a whopping N150m as cash prize.

The Clubs are mandated to send their account details to the NPFL for immediate mobilization.

The NPFL also disclosed that they are have not finalized their various sponsorship deals with Propel sports, Startimes and others but have been able to secure N200m loan which will be given to the Clubs pending the time the sponsorship money will come in.

The NPFL star match will be in Ibadan with 3SC taking on Plateau United while Bayelsa United will trade tackles with Akwa United in Yenogoa.

Enyimba International are the current champions of the league after they clinched the Super 6 title in Lagos.

Meanwhile, two matches involving Nigeria representatives have been postponed due to the continental engagement of Bendel Insurance and Rivers United.
