Assembly commends PDP, ENSIEC on council poll

The Enugu State House of Assembly (ESHA) Tuesday commended the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Enugu State Independent National Electoral Commission (ENSIEC), for conducting a peaceful local government election last Saturday.
Speaker of the House, Hon. Edward Ubosi, who made the commendation on behalf of his colleagues on the floor of the House at a plenary, said the outcome of the polls had shown that the PDP was still in control in the state.
Ubosi said that the election was hitchfree while the Leader of the House, Hon. Ikechukwu Ezeugwu, also commended the conduct of the election lauded the PDP for sweeping the polls.
“We campaigned well and it was obvious that we would win. I congratulate ENSIEC for doing a good job,” Ezeugwu said.
Member representing Aninri constituency, Hon. Matthias Ekweremadu, while commending his party and ENSIEC, said the way people turned out for the polls was a proof that the people were part and parcel of democracy.
Commending the PDP for the landslide victory, Ekweremadu said that the PDP worked hard to win. “The party worked for it. If you don’t work hard, you don’t expect to win,” he mocked
