The federal government has fulfilled its promises of automatic employment to 164 ex corps members that distinguished themselves during the 2012, 2013 and 2014 service years with letters of appointment into the Federal Civil Service.
It also gave nine corps members who suffered various forms of disability during their service year.

Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier-General Johnson Bamidele Olawumi, said the disabled corps members should not think that they served their fatherland in vain.
“The NYSC will not abandon any corps members that suffered any form of disability during their service year to their faith, they are our responsibility,” he said
While congratulating the various awardees, the DG urged all them to continue to see themselves as good ambassadors of the NYSC.

Presenting the corps members with the letters at the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC), the chairman, Joan Ayo, said all the corps members were given appointment based on merit and not on federal character.
She said: “No political motive behind these appointments, it is devoid of political influence, they have exhibited professionalism and patriotism in their service year. All the appointments were based on merit and have nothing to do with federal character.”
