The Director of South West Youth Mobilization in the defunct APC-PCC, Hon. Kazeem Kolawole RAJI has applauded Thursday’s judgement by the Supreme Court affirming President Bola Tinubu, describing it as a monumental victory for democracy and the rule of law.
Raji made the position known in a press statement he issued shortly after the supreme court affirmation of the rulling of the lower Presidential Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja.
It would be recalled that the duo of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Mr Peter Obi of the People Democratic Party and Labour Party respectively had earlier approached the highest court in the land to challenge the rulling of the Appeal Court Tribunal which upheld the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the February 2023 Presidential Election. The Supreme Court Justices in a unanimous decision affirmed the decision of the lower court and confirmed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the duly elected President of the Nigeria.
Raji Kazeem, himself a seasoned ICT Expert who also doubles as the Director General of the Grand Alliance for Tinubu Shettima (GATS) described the victory as that of light over darkness and undisputed truth over thresholds of lies. A victory for democracy over tyranny of the few.
‘Undoubtedly, this judgement at the Supreme Court is a triumph of light over darkness, unblemished truth over thresholds of lies and a victory for popular democracy over tyranny of the few’, He said.
‘Personally, I harbour no iota of doubt concerning the victory at the Ultimate Court as all issues relating to the Presidential Election were painstakingly and meticulously thrashed out and resolved in favour of Mr President at the Presidential Election Tribunal. Getting a different result at the Supreme Court would have amounted to travesty of Justice which the apex court is not known for’, Raji went further.
‘With this judgement which has laid all litigation matters concerning the 2023 Presidential Election to rest, the Judiciary has gone a step further in reinforcing the confidence repose in them by the general public and have once again risen above the Social Media intimidation, Emotion and Cyber bullying by some sections of the political class in arriving at evidence based judgement. It is also a confirmation that sectional public opinions most especially when premised on emotions and sentiments can never stand the test of the law’,
Raji also admonished the candidates of the Labour Party and that of the Peoples Democratic Party to latch on the window created for them with the hand of fellowship magnanimously extended to the duo by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
‘Now, that all legal matters concerning the victory of Mr President has been laid to rest, I will advise the two leading oppostion in the case to embrace the token of oneness and unity extended to them by Mr President by joining hands with him to move the Country forward. Officially, the 2023 Presidential Election is over, it is time to get down to the business of Nation building ‘
Conclusively, Raji commended the bold initiatives of President Tinubu in heralding ground breaking economic reforms with potent outcomes of putting the Nation back on the path of Economic growth and Posterity.
‘May I also seize the occasion of this moment to commend the bold economic reforms being put in place by Mr President. These reforms will no doubt put the Nation back on the path of Economic recovery and infrastructural renewal.
