Elvis Nosakhare, a 41-year-old Nigerian man living in the United Kingdom, has been sentenced to six years in prison for sexually assaulting the underage daughter of his girlfriend.
According to Thames Valley Police, Nosakhare met the victim’s mother through an online dating platform before committing the offences, which investigators described as a “disgusting betrayal of trust.”
The incidents occurred in the Thames Valley area, and following a detailed investigation by the force’s Child Abuse Unit, Nosakhare was charged and tried at Aylesbury Crown Court. He was found guilty of two counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a child and three counts of non-penetrative sexual activity.
In addition to the prison sentence, the court ordered that Nosakhare be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life and imposed a restraining order against him.
Detective Constable Bryn Smith, who led the investigation, praised the victim’s strength throughout the process.
“I want to commend the victim for her bravery during the investigation and court proceedings. I hope this conviction brings her a sense of justice,” he said.
Smith reaffirmed the Thames Valley Police’s commitment to supporting survivors and ensuring offenders are brought to justice.
Nosakhare, a resident of Sheelin Grove in Bletchley, was sentenced on July 29.
This case comes shortly after the conviction of another Nigerian man, Adewale Kudabo, who was sentenced to 12 months in prison last month for sexually assaulting a patient while working as a healthcare assistant at York Hospital.
