Alleged assault on Inspector: IGP wades in, orders investigation 

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Baba,  has directed the Commissioner of Police in charge of  Osun state, CP Olaleye Faleye, to investigate alleged assault of a female officer, Inspector Olorunsogo Bamidele, by her Deputy Crime Officer (DCO) in Ode Omu, Osun state. 

Inspector Olorunsogo in a viral video on social media platforms had alleged that the DCO assaulted and inflcted injuries on her for refusing to dishonour her marital vows by having a relationship with him.

The police officer, who showed injuries said to have been inflicted on her by her senior colleague, said she was assaulted in front of some of her colleagues and civilians at the division.

Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a press statement, Wednesday, in Abuja, said: “We will await the report of the investigation from Osun state Police Command  before necessary actions are taken. “However, we assure the general public that justice will be done in the case, to protect the core values and ethics of the NPF.”
