Al-Makura donates hospital to FULafi a, launches lecture halls

Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, has commissioned a block of two lecture halls in Federal University Lafia (FULafi a) and donated a newly constructed hospital to the institution.

The 500-seat block facility was named Umaru Tanko Al-Makura Lecture Hall, in recognition of the governor’s contribution to the university, while the hospital would serve as the university’s teaching hospital. The hospital is to be known as the Federal University Lafia Teaching Hospital.

While commissioning the lecture halls, Al-Makura stated his unwavering desire to develop the education sector and, in particular, Federal University Lafia, pledging to construct a road in the university and fence its permanent site campus. Vice-Chancellor, Federal University, Prof. Muhammad Sanusi Liman, in his speech, thanked the governor for the many donations which his administration has made to the university.

Liman disclosed that the lecture hall was named after the governor in recognition of his numerous supports to the university. The event peaked with the cutting of tape and unveiling of plaque to commission the lecture hall by Al-Makura. Among those who witnessed the event was the Pro-Chancellor, FULafi a, Emeritus Professor Munzali Jibril, and many other dignitaries.
