Adeleke to philanthropists: Partner govt in poverty alleviation, support less-privileged

Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke, has urged philanthropists in the society to support the government in poverty eradication by extending hands of fellowship to the less privileged.

He made the call in his hometown, Ede, during the distribution of empowerment equipment to women in the area by the Yeye Dupe Adeleke Foundation.

He lauded the gesture by his sister, saying the Adeleke family is known for such kind gestures.

“I am happy to associate with my sister and mother as she keeps the family tradition growing. This is a very commendable action.

“I know this is entirely a private venture. This is a challenge to all well-to-do Osun residents. We must support the poor, the weak, and the challenged.

“Society grows best when we love our neighbours as ourselves. This is a tradition in my family and I am happy my sister is pulling this true,” Adeleke said.

Founder of the group, who doubles as the elder sister of the governor, Yeye Dupe Adeleke-Sanni, stated that 50 minibuses, deep freezers, grinding, sewing machines, cash gifts and other items were distributed to women for their support during the governorship election.
