The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Auto & Allied Sub-sectoral Group has elected Dr. Olorunfemi Abidemi Eguakhide, Deputy Managing Director of R.T. Briscoe (Nigeria) Plc, as its new chairman.

The leadership change took place on Thursday, August 7, 2025, following the completion of Otunba Adekunke Jaiyesimi’s two-term tenure. Jaiyesimi, the Deputy Managing Director of CFAO Mobility, was lauded for his impactful leadership during his time in office.

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Eguakhide expressed gratitude to the group’s members for their trust, acknowledging R.T. Briscoe as the sector’s pioneer institutional member and commending the outgoing chairman’s contributions.

He pledged to prioritize the reactivation of inactive members to foster stronger collaboration, richer idea exchange, and a united front in policy advocacy.

“The first step is to aggressively drive membership. By drawing from our collective experience, we can form robust positions for advocacy, influencing government policies and decisions that will advance the automotive and allied industries,” Eguakhide said.

A seasoned business leader with expertise in operations management, sales and marketing, human resources, and corporate strategy, Dr. Eguakhide holds a postgraduate diploma and an MBA in Marketing Management from Enugu State University of Science and Technology.

An alumnus of Lagos Business School’s Advanced Management Program, he is a Fellow of the Institute of Credit Administration, the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, and a Certified Digital Marketing Professional.

Before joining R.T. Briscoe in 2012, he held senior roles at Genesis Group and The Bridge Healthcare Company.

Rising through the ranks, he managed Briscoe’s Ford and Motors business units before becoming Group COO in 2018, a director in 2019, and Deputy Managing Director in 2025.

Born on March 28, 1968, Dr. Eguakhide currently serves as Vice President of the Association of Automobile, Boatyard, Transport Equipment and Allied Employers of Nigeria (AABTEAEN).
