Anambra community coronates new traditional ruler despite court process

Nawfia community in Njikoka local government area, Anambra state has coroneted a new Traditional Ruler, Dr Shadrach Moguluwa.

Moguluwa was coroneted after his election reportedly held on March 26, 2021, following suspension and subsequent withdrawal of Igwe Chijioke Nwankwo’s certificate of recognition by Anambra state government.

Blueprint learnt that Nwankwo who was among the 11 monarchs that travelled to Abuja in August 2020, is still in court challenging the state government, and some members of his community over withdrawal of his certificate and other issues.

Mr Nathan Enemuo, the President General of the town crowned Igwe Moguluwa saying it was in accordance to the provisions of Nawfia Town Union constitution and with the approval of ‘Nze na Ozo’ traditional title holders.

Also speaking, the traditional ruler of the neighbouring Enugwu-Ukwu, Igwe Ralp Ekpeh, expressed gratitude to God, and enjoined the new monarch to stand for justice and equity while acting the role of father to every son and daughter of Nawfia. 

On his part, Chief Beluolisa, Chairman Board of Trustee of Nawfia Town Union, described the new traditional ruler as an educated, humble and godly ruler who needed the support of all to succeed.

In a remark, Moguluwa thanked the people of Nawfia for finding him worthy of the calling and promised to work with the people and government to ensure the community progressed.
