Edo: PDP chieftains hold reception for ex-commissioner

Chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Egor local government area of Edo state, weekend  lauded Mr. Efe Stewart, a former Commissioner for promoting peace in the party. 


The chieftains who spoke at a grant reception for the ex-commissioner said the event was to honour Stewart for promoting democratic values in defence of Governor Godwin Obaseki’s mandate during the September 19, 2020 governorship election.
The PDP chairman in the area Chief Ekundayo Idehen disclosed that prior to the chieftain’s appointment by Governor Obaseki, Mr. Stewart, assisted over 40 indigenes of the locality to secure jobs during his short period in the public service and served without blemish.


Also, a PDP leader in the area, Mr. Nosa Adams, commended the ex-Commissioner for ensuring that Obaseki’s votes count and also helped to defend the votes from the 10 wards to the collation centre.
The PDP leader however, warned against imposition of candidate, ahead of the forthcoming Local government election in the state.
Similarly, the deputy state Chairman of PDP, Mr. Harrison Omagbon, lauded members and leaders of PDP in the locality for their resilience after the governor and his deputy, Hon. Philip Shaibu, dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) into the umbrella party.


On his part,  Mr. Stewart who dedicated his award to governor Obaseki, pledged his loyalty to PDP.
