NJI Administrator cautions judiciary staff over information management

The Administrator of the National Judicial Institute, Justice Rosaline Bozimo, on Monday cautioned the judiciary staff on the need to be confidential with information at their disposals.

The theme of the workshop is; “Towards improving the quality of judicial services in Nigeria”.

Bozimo gave this caution during the opening ceremony of thr national workshop for secretaries, protocol officers and other administrative staff held in Abuja.

Represented by the Institute secretary, Abubakar Maidama, the NJI administrator told the participants that the workshop was poised to exposed them to relevant global practices in court administration.

While emphasising on the role played by this category of staff on a daily basis, Bozimo described them as ‘bulwark’, advising that they should stick to the tenets of the profession ethics.

“I must not fail to mention with reference to the secretaries that you must endeavour to be confidential with regards to information you come across in the line of duty. This of course goes in tandem with the Code of Court Employees.

“The sessions of this workshop will be enlightening as the papers to be delivered, among others, are centred around professional ethics, information and communication technology (ICT) and the need for administrative staff to maintain decorum and cordial relationships at the workplace.” She added.

A participant at the workshop, Jacinta Okoro, expressed hope that she would learn the nitty-gritty of secretarial duty the more.
