The Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) will during her 32nd convocation ceremony this weekend graduate 2,848 students.
This was disclosed Tuesday by the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof Francis Chukwuemeka Eze during his pre-convocation press briefing at the senate chambers.
According to him, 294 would graduate with postgraduate degrees and diploma, while 2,554 would graduate with first degrees.
He said, out of the number, 62 got first class; 867 got second class upper; 1,361 got second class lower; 259 got 259 while 5 made pass.
The V-C used the opportunity to roll out a number of achievements recorded by his administration, which include; a mini recycling plant set up through its environment and waste management committee in collaboration with the Department of Polymer and Textile Engineering; rehabilitation and furnishing of the burnt ICT building; completion and furnishing of two hostel buildings; completion and furnishing of a one-storey building donated by the National Information Technology Agency (NITA); commissioning of FUTO police post among others.
He pleaded with the general public to help solve their numerous problems such as perimeter fencing, standard stadium, staff quarters, laboratory equipment and cafeteria.
