2023: Why Hon. Betara deserves our mandate – BYAS

The Betara Youth Awareness Forum Shani (BYAS) has called on the people of Biu, Bayo, Kwara/Kusar and Shani local government areas of Borno state to rally support for Hon. Muktar Betara Aliyu representing the constituency at the House of Representatives ahead of 2023 general elections.

The chairman of the forum, Mr. Etham Ebal, said, “It is with great sense of fulfillment that we convey our depth of gratitude to Rt. Hon. Muktar Betara Aliyu, member representing Biu, Bayo, Kwara/Kusar and Shani Federal Constituency of Borno state for his relentless service to his constituents”.

He said BYAS acknowledges the  commitment of the lawmaker and continued sacrifices on the mandate fittingly assigned to him by his people whom he selflessly represents at the green chamber.
According to him, the legislator has been propelling distinguished parliamentary services that touch on mostly the lives of the less privileged and other vulnerable persons in the constituency.

He identified key infrastructural development projects that have directly impacted on the lives of the people of the areas as exemplary to make him stand out amongst many other parliamentarians in the state and nation.
He said Betara who doubles as the Chairman House Committee on Appropriations has made timely intervention in the politics of the constituency which he said is a victory for democracy and participatory politics, noting how he prioritises constructions and rehabilitation of significant medical and transportation facilities which are necessary for life.

“We are witnessing, perhaps for the first time in our constituency where a number of promises made to the people by a politician are fulfilled”, he said.
He recalled that during the buildup to the 2019 general elections, the member had promised to construct hospitals and other medical facilities and has kept the promise.
He said the lawmaker restoring power supply after a decade of darkness caused by the dreaded acts of the Boko Haram terrorists.
He added empowerment programs undertaken include job creation, entrepreneurship and  scholarships as well as agricultural intervention and support programs.

These, among other important issues, the group said are why it is pledging alliance and support that the 2023 candidacy of Hon. Betara be unopposed.
