10 burnt to death in Lagos/Ibadan auto crash

No fewer than 10 people were reportedly burnt to death in a ghastly auto crash on Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Tuesday night.
Sources said the accident, which occurred around the South Energy spot of the expressway involved a Mack trailer and a Lagos colour commercial Danfo bus, marked Lagos AGL 866 XA, said to be returning to Ibadan from Lagos.

It was gathered that the commercial bus, carrying about 12 passengers reportedly lost control resulting in a head-on-collision with the Mack truck and gutted fire with nearly all the passengers in the bus and the truck burnt beyond recognition.
Eye witness account said no fewer than eight burnt bodies were recovered from the commercial bus while two were recovered from the truck.
Contacted, the Oyo state FRSC Command Public Relations Officer, Mr. Tunde Onijala, said about eight burnt human carcass were recovered from the scene of the auto crash by men of the command.
He urged motorists plying major routes in across the state to always be safety conscious while on the wheel.
