One person reportedly lost his life on Wednesday, and several others sustained serious injuries when a tanker exploded along kaduna-Zaria express way, Rigachikun, in Igabi local government area of Kaduna state.
An eye withness Malam Umaru Usman told Blueprint that, the tanker lost control while trying to avoid a head-on collision with a golf car driving against traffic, which caused the death of one person with others sustaining injuries.
“It was in that process that the tanker fell and burst into flames because it was loaded with a substance suspected to be petrol,” Malam Usman added.
Blueprint reports that another tanker fell around the Flamingo area of Nnamdi Azikiwe bypass while trying to navigate the deplorable road, but did not result in a fire incident.
