At least three persons, including a pregnant woman and her two children have been killed in a fire incident in Okija, Ihiala local government area of Anambra state.
Blueprint learnt that the disaster which occurred about 7:30pm Tuesday at the residence of one Maxwell Okeke of Umuoffor village Okija, burnt his pregnant wife, Nwazuru Okeke, and their two children, namely; Mr Chidi Ebube Okeke, 2, and Makuo Chukwu Okeke, One, all of who were burnt beyond recognition.
According to the state Command of the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Haruna Muhammed, police detectives attached to Okija division visited the scene and the fire was put off with the assistance of local volunteers in the Area.
Muhammed, however, noted that cause of the fire was yet unknown but the Commissioner of Police CP Rabiu Ladodo has ordered for a full scale investigation to ascertain circumstances surrounding the incident.
