Emir of Zazzau and chairman, Kaduna State Council of Emirs and Chiefs, Alhaji Shehu Idris, has installed, Dr Muhammad Suleiman Adam as the substantive Chief Imam of the Sultan Bello Mosque, Kaduna, after the crisis that rocked leadership of the mosque few months ago following the removal of the former Chief Imam, Sheik Balele Wali.
Speaking shortly after the installation in his palace in Zaria City, yesterday, the emir advised the new Imam to come up with possible of uniting the worshippers.
Idris, who was speaking through the Wazirin Zazzau, Alhaji Ibrahim Aminu, stressed the need of uniting among the worshippers by carrying everybody along.
The monarch pointed out that peace was of paramount importance, saying “Islam is a religion of peace and doesn’t encourage violence.”
However, he warned him (Imam) to have the fear of God in the discharge of his responsibility.
In his acceptance speech the newly installed Imam thanked God for his installation.
He equally thanked stakeholders like the Sultan of Sokoto, his Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar; the Kaduna state government, and the emir for selecting him as the substantive Imam of the Mosque.
