The Zamfara state government Monday reaffirmed its commitment to the improvement of enrollment drive in schools across the state.
Governor Dauda Lawal stated this Sunday in commemoration of this year’s Children Day celebration and his two-year anniversary held in Gusau.
The governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Women, Children and Social Development, Dr Aisha M. Z. Anka, assured children that the state government would continue to make massive investment in the educational sector in order to bequeath a secure future to the children living in the state.
The governor pledged that his government would continue to perform its primary responsibility to promoting and protecting the right of every citizen, including children.
Governor Lawal also called on parents, guardians, teachers, as well as traditional rulers to work harder in educating and protecting children in the state.
Also speaking at the event the director, Child, Hajiya Farida Abdulrazak Tigana commended Zamfara state government for the total declaration of state of emergency on education.
In his speech, the Commissioner of Education Science and Technology, Malam Wadatau Madawaki, who was represented by permanent secretary of the ministry, Hajiya Maryam Yahaya Shantali, said the state government has declared a state of emergency on education, aimed at reforming the sector.
