Zamfara: Governor- elect inaugurates 60- man transition c’ttee

Zamfara state governor- elect, Dr. Dauda Lawal Dare, has inaugurated a 60- man transition committee for the incoming administration.

Inaugurating the committee at the Garba Nadama Conference Hall in Gusau,Tuesday, Dr. Dauda Lawal said sub committees have been constituted that will work under the main committee to submit their report within three weeks to the main committee for onward action.

“The main committee will submit their report at the end of August this year to his administration to enable him run good governance for the benefit of the entire people of the state,” he said.

Dr. Dauda identified insecurity, education, agriculture and commerce to be his top priority to rescue Zamfara from its total collapse.

He added that the committee members were selected based on their capabilities and vast experience both socially, economically and politically.

He said the committee is headed by the former Inspector General of Police (IGP) MD Abubakar.

Dr. Dauda Lawal Dare called on members of the committee to redouble efforts and work assiduously without fear or favour to ensure successful and peaceful transition of his administration.

In an acceptance speech, the chairman of the transition committee, Abubakar thanked the governor- elect, Dr Dare for selecting them to serve as his transition committee.
