Zamfara ex-lawmaker tackles critics of Senator Yari on project

A former member of the House of Representatives in Zamfara state, Barrister Mohammed Sani Takori, has flayed the critics of a serving senator, Abdul’Aziz Yari, over the rehabilitation of Gummi flood victims, describing the critics of the programme as enemies of development.

A statement issued in Zamfara, Barrister Takori, debunked claims of the critics, saying that the flood victims programme in Gummi which was named (Beyond Relief) initiated by Senator Yari Abubakar was in progress, with all honesty and transparency.

“The Senator Yari flood programme in Gummi is not only in progress but with modesty, transparency and honesty being led by my dear friend Hon muttaka Rini”, he added.

According to the statement, Senator Yari was a man of honour and not a politician who failed in fulfilling his promise.

“His anticedent and his family background is rooted in moral, modest, honesty and fear of Allah”, Takori stressed.

He asked the critics of the programme to visit the affected areas to see for themselves.

He noted that the victims of the flood had on daily basis expressed their happiness to Senator Yari for the initiative.

The former Lawmaker said as an indigene of Gummi local government has the moral and social obligation to tell the public the true situation of the programme so as to clear the insinuation of the critics.

Takori said since Yari visited Gummi town for the first time, no single promise of his was not honoured, right from clothes, to money, roofing sheets and cement as every victim had his needs met.
