An Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Hassan Mohammed Gumel, has described the Kaura Namoda supplementary bye election as peaceful, noting that no arrest was made during the election.
The AIG made the pronouncement in an interview with journalists’ o Friday.
According to him, the police and other sister security agencies played a vital role in ensuring peaceful exercise.
According to him, no arrest was made and there was mo attempts to jeopardize the election as speculated on social media.
“We have not made any arrest of anyone or group of persons who attempted to break law and order in all the five polling units where the supplementary bye election was conducted as speculated,” he said.
He commended the police and other security personnel who worked together to ensure peaceful election exercise.
“On behalf of the Inspector General of Police, I want to commend the Nigerian Police personnel and other sister security agencies for maintaining law and order during the supplementary election,” he said.
