The Federal Ministry of Youth Development (FMYD) has taken significant steps by signing a Performance Management System (PMS) to “measure performance, identify areas of growth, and reward outstanding achievement to enhance accountability, productivity, and excellence in service delivery, aligned with the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP) 2021-2025.”
A press statement issued by the Ministry’s Director of Press and Public Relations, Omolara Esan, indicated that the signing ceremony was attended by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olubunmi Olusanya, and the Management Staff of the Ministry at his office in Abuja.
It added that Mr. Olusanya stated that the signing of the performance contract by all Directors/Heads of units “signifies their dedication to transparency and result-driven governance, noting that the ceremony marked the commencement of the Employee Performance Management System (EPMS), symbolised by the handover of MPMS from Director, Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS) to Director, Human Resources Management (HRM).”
He instructed that the PMS jackets and caps must be worn every Thursday to support the overall civil service goal to ensure that the system is successfully institutionalised.
He appreciated everyone who contributed to the success of the PMS, adding that the Ministry would not relent until every staff member had signed his Performance Contract.
According to him, the PMS is fully implemented in the Federal Ministry of Youth Development.
In his closing remarks, the Director, Human Resources Management (HRM), Chukwuma A.N., urged the staff to actively champion the Performance Management Reform initiative in order to propel the realisation of the current Administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
